HOW A HOSPICE IS COPING AT THIS TIME
Mary Potter Hospice

Wayne Evans recently spoke to Mary Potter Hospice in Wellington, New Zealand: Many patients prefer to be at home with their family during this time, so there are not many visits to the hospice, but doctors are in regular contact with patients by phone and counselling is provided remotely. The fundraising team is working from home and have a daily group video call. They will soon call long-term donors and organisationally acquired regular givers (approximately 2,000 calls), which will help to share the important work at the hospice. With retail shops closed, there is no revenue coming from this stream, and a grant pledge to their recent capital campaign has been withdrawn, but most of their regular givers are continuing their support.
