RESPOND AND CREATE: NAVIGATING THE NEW NORMAL IN FUNDRAISING
AskRIGHT Articles

Facing the prospect of a deep economic recession due to COVID-19, the charitable sectors in both New Zealand and Australia are revising their plans and strategies to meet the new demands and unique challenges brought on by the pandemic. Uncertainty and difficult decisions loom for charities on both sides of the Tasman, so it is understandable for fundraisers to question what the best direction is over the next 6-12 months. Whatever the direction you decide to take, make sure you continue to do one thing: keep on fundraising!

A CLEAR PATHWAY TO GIFTS IN WILLS
AskRIGHT Feature
Christchurch Methodist Mission (CMM) reached out to us in 2018 looking for a clear pathway to increase Gifts in Wills fundraising income - featured here in the FINZ Autumn magazine. AskRIGHT Consultant Louise Walters adds:
"This type of fundraising is becoming part of the everyday ongoing conversation with supporters by integrating the legacy message across the organisation in as many places as possible, gradually helping people move from consideration until they are in a place where they are ready to take action. It is not about a constant volume of communications until people relent, instead it is about giving them what they want and need rather than what the organisation wants. Regular straightforward opportunities are being developed for supporters to reveal their intentions to gain an accurate reflection of their thoughts and motivations about leaving a Gift in their Will, and CMM is making sure these vital supporters are treated well and nurtured long into the future."

ORGANISATIONAL SURVIVAL
AskRIGHT Feature

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has sent us all into unchartered waters. If we thought life was challenging before – with droughts, bushfires, global financial crises, floods, domestic violence, homelessness, and so on – nothing has prepared us for the situation we are currently experiencing. Nevertheless, there are actions we can take now to give us the best possible chance of surviving this emergency for the future of our organisations. It is how we respond – not how we react – that will give us this chance. Through strategic disaster response management and scenario planning, this article will help you navigate your way to survival and recovery.
